He gives his age as 25 on the marriage in 1917 so the 1892 birth would fit, and his father as Thomas, a blacksmith (deceased).
He is shown as a 'Ship's fireman' so that would also fit with the Police Gazette incident posted above.

His age is definitely 3 on the image of this census but I'm sure it's an error:

There are quite a few recent requests in various genealogy forums about the Albert Edward I'anson who was born 1892 in Barrow-in-Furness
e.g. "I am looking for any further information on Albert Edward I'anson (sometimes known as Anson) born 5/5/1892.His 1st marriage was to Elizabeth Gertrude Hughes 25/12/1917 they had twins Albert & Elizabeth born 1918 who died at birth also Evelyn born 1920. 2nd marriage to ? in 1940 3rd marriage in 1962 to Doris Helena Bowbrick in Orpington, he died 20th February 1977 Bromley Kent"
"Would you be able to provide me with any info on Albert Edward I'anson, son of Thomas and second wife Elizabeth Jackson? Thomas was 60 years old when Albert born, wife deemed to be many years younger than him. Albert born in Barrow around 1892."
I think these requests might possibly have been by Ellen?

Well, I am surprised I managed to find it as I was looking at the wrong name ;-) :-D :-D :-D
I think it was the apostrophe which fooled me into thinking it was an 'L' as that is more usual .
Thank you MC <3

A LIVING LIE
SWINDLER IN KHAKI UNIFORM.
A young man named Albert Edward L'Anson, who, in a khaki uniform which he has no right to wear, has been imposing on charitable people in the Liverpool district as a wounded soldier, was today sentenced by the stipendiary to three months with hard labour. Detective Levett said that three weeks ago L'Anson fell down in the street at Seacombe, pretending to be in a fainting condition. A number of women crowded round him and the story was put about that he was a soldier who had returned home wounded from the front. He was taken into a house, and a lady who had been behaving very generously to soldiers gave him meals every day and all the other assistance he pretended to need. After imposing on her for some time he received from her a letter of introduction to Sir James Barr, from whom he also endeavoured to obtain money. Apparently L'Anson had been making his living in this fashion for some time, the detective added.

Would anyone know if I can find online the court case for a Albert Edward I'Anson? In the Liverpool Echo 4 June 1915 there is a notice that he was charged for Swindling by wearing a Khaki uniform.I would think there maybe a photo of him on his court records??? Anyone have any suggestions I live in Australia so am unable to go to any library to view any information. Thank You Ellen
