You're into the realms of parish records as his birth is before civil registration. Unfortunately only a very small percentage of parish records are on line. And that's assuming that he was baptised!

Well done in finding the marriage Gins. May be I was too tired last night. It's ashame that neither witnesses carried the couples surnames.

Have you been able to find Walter or Ann on any census? That would tell you were he was born. The 1841 would only say if he was born 'in county' or not, but at least it's a start. Edit....didn't spot the burial as posted by Gins earlier.

You could always join Ancestry with a free trial, but remember to cancel well before the 14 days are up. Even as a free member you can search their records, then ask on here for a subscriber to look up the details for you. You could do the same for Findmypast, GRs sister site.

Have you looked on familysearch for baptisms etc? That's a free site.

How do I research where Walter Biddle was born, ie to find his parents? It seems I need access to more research sites? It would seem Ancestry is good.

If you have access to Ancestry, it might be worth looking through all the Wills with the surname of Collins or Biddle to see if either Ann or Walter are mentioned.

Yes William Pardoe is my relative. I don't have a clue as yet where the Pardoe comes from.

All my relatives have been from London. Surrey Lambeth areas so far

Both 'of this Parish'. Margin notation -married 8 Feb 1813

Pallot's Marriage Index for England: 1780 - 1837 states that they were bachelor and spinster.

The image of the marriage isn't on-line at Ancestry. Even if it was, the fathers wouldn't be named. You might be lucky to find that witnesses were Collins or Biddle, but that there wouldn't be any reference as to how they were related.

There is a tree on Ancestry which has this couple. One of the grandchildren is named as William Pardoe Biddle
Birth 11 April 1815 in Lambeth, Surrey, England
Death 29 July 1877 in 13, Frederick Place, Mile End Road, Middlesex, England

There is no obvious source to explain where Pardoe came from. It could be from either side (son or daughter-in-law)
