I have Edward Lord (Great Great Grandfather) born 1825 in Halifax Yorkshire UK. In the 1881 census it shows him as an inmate at the Union workhouse in Halifax Yorkshire. Is anyone able to provide more info on him he was married to Elizabeth Woodhead. Thank you

The 1841 census posted where Edward is a Wire Drawer has James and Elizabeth looking like the parents.
There is this marriage but James is a Cordwainer and on the census he is a Warehouseman.

In my experience workhouse records are very sparse in their info
Usually they just record the day of admittance and the day of exit . Have never found any info on why someone came into the workhouse or any other type of info
