Hello

I would be interested if anyone shares my great-grandfather on their trees. Desperately searching for his father, William Dearden of Lancashire, but so far no luck!

Many thanks

Jayne

'IF' that is the correct 1881 which I posted above then this would probably be the marriage of William Snr:

Marriages Dec 1873
DEARDEN William Bury 8c 599
Hampshire Elizabeth Ann Bury 8c 599

The son Ralph shows Hampshire as mothers maiden name:

Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1874
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Mother's Maiden Name Reference
DEARDEN Ralph Turner Bury North Bury HAMPSHAW BN/40/32

Ralph also has an interesting middle name which could be useful to either confirm or rule out.

We can't really continue until we have some feedback from Jayne - I will send her a pm asking her to return.....

Am I losing the plot here or did the title of this thread start off as just being about 'William' Dearden ??

'George William' has now appeared so does that mean Jayne has been back and altered it because the family I have posted above is the correct one, or am I imagining things? :-S :-S

P.S. - If you have been back Jayne, could you please post info using the 'Add your reply' box at the bottom so we can see the additional info.

Thanks,

Many thanks for looking. George William Dearden (Sheffield) was my great grandfather. His father was William, born in Lancashire I think around 1854. His wife was Elizabeth born in Sheffield in 1856. However, if I try to look before the 1881 census, I cannot seem to find anything on either of them (which of course, may not be unusual) or indeed in 1891 - which is strange.

Dea

Dea Report 6 Jun 2014 16:33

SO - you have his wife Eliza Sisson on your tree - do you not think that all this info adds up to the correct family ??

What about the 1911 and the 1881 which I posted?

What exactly is it that you are trying to find?
