Hi I'm trying to find anything about Ida V H Evans, born 1929 4th qtr Lambeth London, to parents Robert Joseph Evans and Helen Mary Gertrude Smith b1900 Ireland they married 2nd qtr 1924 St. Martins.
Can anyone find anything on this lady please?

The entry has an S before Ida's name ....... this apparently indicates a Service Voter ............... I have no idea what that means!

She is with her parents on each of those Electoral Register entries



this may explain Service Voter ....................


The Representation of the People Act 1945 again made temporary provision for postal voting by service voters.


It looks as though she had joined the Services during WW2, and was registered at her parents address to be eligible to vote by post.

She married in 1950

It looks she lives in Crawley will PM you the address

She is still with her parents at 12 Crozier Street on the Electoral Register in 1960, but not after that .......... and her parents have moved from Crozier Street by the 1961 Electoral Register

I'm sorry Jax and Shirley ........ but I just do not see any marriage for her on freebmd




.......... but she most certainly is on the Electoral Register with her parents, in her maiden name, in 1951, 1956, 1959 and 1960!

I think that this is the marriage that has been mentioned:

perhaps she did not tell her parents to remove her from the ER in her maiden name?

Incidentally, Helen Mary is on most of the records that I found as Helene

now why cannot I find that marriage?????

It looks as though Gordon Ives died in Dec 1999

Gordon had remarried in 1968 but no record of Ida remarrying

Have sent the marriages info as well as the possible address for Ida
