marriage in Blackwater

Is there anyone in Co. Wexford who could have a look for a marriage between Michael O'Connor / Connors and ................ Leahy. The name could well have been Mary or Jane as this name has run through the family and does not relate to any other family members that we have .The family came from Blackwater in Co. Wexford. The date would most likely have been late 1851/1852 as my Gt. Gt. Grandmother was born Jan 1853, in Bootle. Liverpool. I have tried to find a marriage in Liverpool, nothing came up for those names in Liverpool. Now I have new information I have been sent by a relative so I do want to try and check this out.
Thank you to anyone who is able to help.

What was your Gt Gt Grandmother's name? Her birth certificate should give you her mother's name.
Do you have the names of any siblings?

That is the problem, as we don't know the exact date. There are a lot of Ann O'Connor/Connors born in Liverpool around that time. I have a couple of census with "Ann Connors and Father Michael (widower) but don't know if they are correct"
Sorry but I don't know what else to do for the best. Ann's mother is the only one of that generation that I do not have in my family tree, its getting to be an obsession now trying to find her. The new info stating born Jan 1853 may or not be correct, she did die in Jan 1933 age 80 years.
Sorry for causing any problems.

Hi Teresa, no problem just need as much info as you can give to make it easier to be as accurate as possible.
So your Gt Gt Grandmother was called Ann?
What was Michael's occupation, this should be on Ann's marriage certificate, if she is your direct ancestor then you should at least know who she married?

but she was born in October so probably not but worth making note for elimination of census records.

Hi Catherine.
Ann married Edward Marsh (my ancestor) On the certificate her Father Michael was a Stoker, not sure if that was on a ship or factory though.
It is very difficult to know which info I should be looking at as my only sources are very old now and prone to making mistakes. Bless them.
Teresa.

i know you said that you already have some census records that you are not sure about so this may be one of them.

I was looking at this one:-

1871 England Census about Ann Connor
Name: Ann Connor
Age: 19
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1852
[Abt 1854]
Relation: Daughter
Father's Name: Michael Connor
Gender: Female
Where born: Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Civil Parish: Liverpool
Ecclesiastical parish: St Aidans
County/Island: Lancashire
Country: England
Registration district: Liverpool
Sub-registration district: St Martin
ED, institution, or vessel: 52
Household schedule number: 42
Piece: 3764
Folio: 130
Page Number: 10
Household Members:
Name Age
Michael Connor 58 born: Ireland 1813
Ann Connor 19
Mary Murphy 15 - Grandaughter born: Liverpool, Lancashire - 1856

.............born correct time and place and father is Michael. His occupation is also noted as Fireman in Gas Works and I was wondering if that could be classed as a Stoker? Was he there as a fireman as we know now (to put fires out) or was his job to keep the fires going which is the same as a Stoker?

Does Ann's death certificate not give a date of birth?

Hi Catherine,
Thank-you for looking. I did get the census where Michael was a fireman in Gasworks. Puzzled by the Mary Murphy - orphan on one and the grand-daughter on the other - haven'y found a connection to her yet.
Hadn't though that death certificate would have date of birth on, I will get on from registrar and see what it has on it. Thank-you once again.
Teresa.
