Thank you so much for looking in the Hethersett records. It may be that the record of Peter's baptism was not preserved, or, as I suspect, for the marriage of Peter's son, William, to Elizabeth (between 1661 and 1675), the sacrament took place in another Norfolk parish.
Thank you again.
Regards
Donald

Many thanks for this. It is very good of you. I have a feeling that William and Elizabeth will have married outwith Hethersett parish sometime between 1660 and 1676...

I can find William 1643 son of peter & amy.
I can find john 9-3-1683,
peter 10-11-1689,
have not found William & elizabeths marriage but I will keep looking.

this family have their surname spelt BALY on the family history site,
maybe someone will find the marriage with this spelling before I do.

Many thanks again. The marriage record I am looking for is for William Balye (Bayly/Bayley), bapt 7 May 1643 Hethersett, and Elizabeth (baptism record not yet found and could be outwith Hethersett parish), who then had children - one (no name) was buried in Hethersett on 25 Feb 1676, John (bapt 9 March 1684), William (buried as infant 4 May 1684 in Hethersett) and Peter, my direct ancestor (bapt 10 November 1689 in Hethersett). It is possible that the marriage could have taken place outwith Hethersett parish, if Elizabeth's home parish was not Hethersett. Intriguing!
