The Hannah Lever in the newspaper article was aged 69 yrs. She was awarded £70 damages after an accident in which the tram brakes failed after the tram had gathered speed, and despite the two horses falling clear of the tram, the tramcar continued on its course , until, instead of turning on the points by the Town Hall, it went on and collided against two lampposts and was brought to a stop in a shop window. |
