AND do watch out, many migrant children were sent also to Canada.

My own g/grandfather was sent there (with the permission of his parents!) as he was a naughty lad.

He stayed 6 months, and made his own way home. He came home because he was told it was not a nice place to live......

A William Arthur Grimes died 15/8/1981 aged 82 died in the suburb of Dalkeith and was cremated and his ashes scattered. If William and Sidney were residing in the Sunset men's home their details when they died would have been supplied by the home Superintendent who didn't always have very accurate details from what I've seen.
Their cemetery records can be accessed free at mcb.wa.gov.au

Trying to trace two relatives .William H.A Grimes. born 1909 Wood Green London and his brother Sidney F.C. Grimes born 1910 both sent to Australia as children . Parents were William C Grimes and his wife Margaret Grimes nee Lilley .I dont have a date for when they were sent but both were on the 1911 census in Wood Green .They had a sister who was I believe a twin to William . she wasnt sent to Australia but bought up by her parents in Wood Green London.
