Good Afternoon everyone..
This request is of somewhat a pain, as i dont have much to go on ..Only what i have just recently been told....Dorothy Gibson was born on 22nd september 1926,south manchester, Chorlton-on-Medlock....i am finding it totally impossible to track down a Marriage for her, although i am told that she had/has a Daughter by the name of Norma....Any help would be most welcome...thank you,

Have a look on freebmd searching with no surname, but for a child Norma born with mother's maiden name GIBSON.
Some dates or areas will seem more likely to you.

You can then check whether a man of same surname as the child married a Dorothy.

Is Dorothy still alive?

What is your connection?

How reliable is the person who gave you the info?

You must remove the exact DOB.......you know the site rules about privacy

Having done a search on FreeBMD, although only for Lancashire births and marriages (and I see Gwyn has suggested the same search) it appears that either Norma was not born in Lancashire, or that Dorothy wasn't married there, or that she didn't marry Norma's father -
impossible to narrow it down without more information, unfortunately.

Or else the information you have been given is incorrect, Cane

Cane, you are able to delete multiple posts.

As you have almost 2000 posts I would think you know that researchers on here are all volunteers

Also as a person with almost 2000 posts you should know the cardinal rule of " Don't post about the same person twice" You have done it 3 times and Reggie was just pointing that out so as to avoid duplication.
