Sorry Christine can I have the full details of the other census you found. Thanks

Mary Report 18 May 2014 22:57

Hi Christine,

Well done.
Thank you so much for that information it is much appreciated.
I said earlier that I wondered if she was with one of her 2 married siblings but did not have access to view just to check the index.
Between 1901 and 1911 it looks as if 5 of her siblings died.

Please is it possible for you to check the 1911 for one of her other siblings
Margaret Bolan born 1874 Wigan
I cann't find one in Wigan but found one in West Derby Liverpool in the index but in an institution, Wondered if this lady was born in Wigan and if it was a workhouse or hospital. this lady also died 1911.
Thank you if it's not too much to ask.
Regards Mary

Yes that was my uncle. I have all the other information but have not been able to find her on the 1911 census before she married.
Thought a new pair of eyes might have found her.
Thanks to all for looking.

Thank you Alviegal.
Might have thought dressmaker as their step dad was a tailor.

1891 on fmp. Have made corrections to John and Thomas' occupations. Ropemaker sounds a lot better than dressmaker!

Mike,
The birth is correct for Alice.
Alice Ballard married John Bolan Wigan 1871
Then she married John Farley 1883.

I am now wondering if Alice was with either of her married siblings on the 1911 census?

Elizabeth Ann married Michael Tarsnane Wigan 1899.
Don't know who John married but he was a rope maker on the 1891 census.

Could anyone please find Alice Farley born 1887 in Wigan Lancashire.
She was still single in 1911. I have her on the 1891 with her parents and on the 1901 census with her siblings.
