Please can anyone help.....Doing a Leicester trip in a few weeks concerning my Evans family side. Want to look for my greatgrandparents graves or cremation sites. I know were they lived and when they died but would love to know where they were laid to rest...no one in my family knows. Walter Evans died 1966 and his wife approx ten years earlier (Florence Evans) They lived in Stoneygate Road, Toller Road and earlier in their lives Leicester St. Margaret area. How on earth do you find out, some of the Leicester cemetaries are huge and when I rang their offices they weren't that helpful. Does anyone have any ideas, help or advice please. Always worth asking for ideas. |

To get help from the cemetery authorities, you need to be able to give precise info. |

Fiona, buy their death certificates to get exact dates of death. |

Another possibility - perhaps they were cremated? |

The British Newspaper Archives don't have items as recent as the deaths but one of the libraries in the Leicestershire area might have archives. Seeing as you know exactly when they died it might be worth investigating that aspect to see if there was a death notice which would at least confirm their arrangements. |
