Hi I am having a problem finding my G-Granmother birth place, I belive it was in Chorlton Upon Medlock Lancashire,on her marriage certificate, it has 28 Sorton Street Chorlton Upon Medlock, for age it only has Minor her Father John Jackson,she married William Marsh 9/2/1846 at Collegiate parish Church in the parish of Manchester, I checked family search births & baptisms from 1825-1826, also Lancashire online, ST Lukes & DustyDocs- English - Parish,the two witness are William Valerlsaine & Ann Brackin her Father John Jackson occupation Carter, any help would be most welcome. Have you looked for her on later census to check what she has declared as place of birth, I think that would be the obvious starting point? |

Hi thank you all for what you posted, the 1871 census is right, Albert Edward Marsh age 9 my Granfather he died 31/12/1933 in Lee Lewisham 64 summerfield street ( he birth date 21/6/1862 ), the 1861 census is also right his brother John died in 1865 on the 24/12/1865 age 11 his burial 24/12/1865 all Saints Chorlton upon Medlock Lancashire online,again thank you all.Geoffrey Walter. |
