Ta Reggie,

I have looked for baptisms but can't find him at all so I suppose that's it.

Many thanks.

No such things as certs before July 1837

Before that time, only Parish Registers, and fathers' names were not recorded.

The England Select Marriages and Pallots Marriage index cover this time - but it's possible that parents not transcribed on there either.

If you want to mail the names I'll take a quick look for you!

Jude

Hello,
I need some advice, not research as it concerns a topic I have asked about before and I know you can't ask twice.
I have got a marriage in 1802 on the 27th of December at St Thomas Parish Church, Dudley, Worcester.
It was transcribed on FamilySearch but it didn't give the respective parents names which is what I am after.
The only avenue open to me is to contact Dudley Archives to order the marriage certificate but would the marriage have been recorded in a book at that time and also if FamilySearch couldn't give the parents names would I be wasting my time altogether?
What is usually the next step? Hope this makes sense.
Looking forward to your advice,
Karin
