This is an interesting one too - it has passenger lists and ships diaries, early settlers, some marriages etc.

in case it helps ...the 'National Library of NZ' (Auckland) (on-line) has an 'Ask Us' librarian service. They will check their records including electoral rolls (past & present) and sometimes newspaper death notices -if given approx. dates.
