Hi Dea.

Thanks for replying.

re. a sister Annie - not as far as I can tell - her parents were William Ball and Florence Eccleston. The couple are on 1911 with son William.
I found Doris as follows - the last birth on here is a bit dubious obviously!!

Births Jun 1912 (>99%)
Ball Doris Eccleston Aston 6d 358
Births Mar 1914
BALL George A Eccleston Birmingham 6d 610
Births Sep 1920 (>99%)
Ball Gladys M Eccleston Birmingham 6d 715

The family lost touch when my mother was very young, so there is scant family info unfortunately..

Thank you SO much Shirley, Flip & Detective, I really appreciate your effort and time.
I agree with the advice about trying to contact family members if I can, and those names have definitely given me something to work with.
I would have thought with that name it would be simple, silly me!
Many thanks as always.

Gladys N appears to have married Reuben C Haden in 1934 - one daughter born 1941. Then marries as Maden/Pagett in 1973. She died Birmingham in 1994 as Pagett.

Thomas Eric's dob was 30.5.1911 according to his father's military record - which may or may not help. He had siblings eileen Dora 13.6.07, Gladys Nellie 31.3.09 and Ivy Melrose 8.12.14 (as already posted).

Father Thomas Harry married Nellie Evans 22.11.06.

They are on the 1911 census, but Ancestry has transcribed it as Lunnerdine.

Maybe they passed away after 2005 so the record won't be online

You could try to find someone from Thomas's family - see if they know what happened to them.

His sister Ivy M was registered Q1/1915 - she married William H Hanson in 1935, they had 2 children 1936/39. She then married Joseph B feely (or Feeley) in 1955, and died in 2001 in St Austell, Cornwall. I think Joseph died in 1992 in Truro.

There are 4 children born to them 1944-51 registered under both names - check out the BMD. The names aren't too common, and registrations were corrected following the parents marriage.

ADDED their youngest son may be on the ERs in St Austell, but not in phone book. I can't check for an address though.

Flip Report 4 May 2014 05:57

I can't see anything for either of them, apart from possible entries in the phone book 1956-58 for T E Tunnadine, address 15 The Crescent, Shirley. This is a possibility as it isn't very far from their address on the ERs.

Couldn't see any obvious children & presumably this was her first marriage.

There wasn't a migration/naturalisation on the Australian Archive site (£10 poms) although the 'foreign' records do need to be looked at.
EG Australian and NZ ER + SSDI for the US. Canada would be more tricky because of their privacy laws.

Like you, its way past bed time!

Thanks Detective - I think so, as Doris Ball was born 1912, and the name is so unusual isn't it. Doris was my mother's cousin, hence my interest.

I do not know 100% that she married this man, but it's the most likely marriage, assuming she married at all of course! If i could match a death for Doris Tunnadine then that would make the marriage a more likely bet, but I just can't find her.

Thank you for your interest.

I wonder if might ask for a bit of help please? I don't think much background info is needed, but if you want to, ask away!

I am trying to find out what became of the following couple - I can see them up to about 1950 on the B'ham electoral register, but can't see deaths for either of them: I have tried contacting the only person on here who seems to have Thomas in their tree. I don't think they had any children. at least can't see any on Freebmd.

I think Thomas is Thomas Eric.

Marriages Jun 1939 (>99%)
Ball Doris Tunnadine Birmingham 6d 182
Tunnadine Thomas E Ball Birmingham 6d 182

Many thanks - if I don't reply quickly it's because I have retired to bed!
