I have checked for baptisms but cant find any unfortunately, i think ill have to try and get the marriage cert see if theres anything on there i think otherwise it will remain a mystery

He seems fairly confident that he was born in Grove, so should be under Wantage.

Unfortunately no Alfred/Prior (or variations) born there 1852-1853.
Possibly not registered...
