Margaret Report 2 May 2014 16:50

I have found William Morrell 25 iron miner, wife Harriet 20, dau Hannah 2 and dau Ann 1 month on 1841 census. I cannot spot them on 1851 after looking for quite a while (and am still looking). Has anyone got time to have a quick look to see if maybe I am missing them somehow? Thanks.

Margaret - have you found them 1861 onwards, or any other later records?

Whereabouts were they from?

Hi Marie Celeste - no I have just been searching the 1851. I was trying to do that before I ventured onto the later censuses so that I could establish the exact places of birth. . I will have a look now to see if the 1961 yields anything.

Dont forget ages were rounded off to the nearest 5 years for the 1841 census, Childrens ages though were meant to be exact

If the Harriett Morrell death in 1846 is William's wife then this might be a 2nd marriage which would tie in with the William & Hannah in the 1861 census

Have just come back and well..... you wonderful people. You certainly have done me proud on this. I can't thank you enough. Why didn't I think of Harriet possibly dying and William remarrying !! Many many thanks.
