Hi I am trying to find the parents family details of David Ackerley / Ackley born around 1826 Manchester area.
I have found David's marriage details in 1950 see below his fathers name is given as William Ackerley, occ Warper
I have not found this William Ackerley as yet in the 1851-1841 census reports.

I believe that this could be David with his mother Martha? in the 1841 census see below

On David's marriage doc it gives father William Ackerley and working as a Warper

Have you noticed on the 1841 census there is a William living with them.

People would give a fase dads name on a marriage cert to cover up that they were illegitimate

Look at the Martha/William MILLER (in Manchester).1851
Same address as David gives on his marriage cert.

I have now got copies of the census reports and marriage cert
yes they are the same people one problem.
Martha Ackerley is shown as marrying a Henry Miller in 1845 so where does William Miller head of family come in ?

Just out of interest this was my own occupation when I left school in 1968
