With the assumption that Mercer was Minnie's maiden name, they do not appear to have had any natural born children. There is no way of telling if they had adopted children unless you were fortunate enough to find an entry for them on historical ER. Obviously children couldn't be included until they reached the age of 18 or 21 (can't remember when it was lowered to 18)

Always check http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl for BMD.Its particularly useful when you have a mother's maiden name for births after Sep 1911.

Assuming he served in WW2, his records will still be with the MOD. 25 years after the date of his death, you would be entitled to purchase a copy at a cost of £30. You may have to provide a copy of the DC

Have you got the marriage certificate to Minnie, to check that she had not been married before?

Could you say what your connection to him is?

what i would like to know is did he have any children in this marraige
his world war two service record
and were he died
