Is it possible to see if there is any probate record for him at all, its just I know the names of two of his children but cannot find any birth records for them (they would be my mum's cousins and we are trying to trace them you see)

Brynley Matthews and Marianne Matthews, not sure if they were born in Southampton or Bridgend.

I think this will be his marriage

Probate records this recent will not be on line - you would have to order a copy of the Will at a cost of £6. If he left everything to a surviving wife, then the Estate would not be listed on the Calender.

Although a copy of the Will and/or Probate only costs £6, it might be more useful to purchase a copy of the DC at £9.25 and hope that one of the daughters was the informant
