Sorry I have not found her father, Ben Cooper Shaw, in the 1911 so maybe he was travelling again. In 1901 he was described as cotton mill overlooker.

Bessie married as Bessie and she always signed herself Mrs B Davies.

Hello Ann, her father isn't listed on the 1911 - who was he? (May help with India records).

Added: Was she always Bessie, or is that an abbreviation?

I have always thought Bessie was born in Lancashire like most of the rest of the family. However now I have eventually found her in 1911 census (spelt Besie and sister Else spelt (elice - in fact only Hilda translated correctly which is why it has take me so long to find)

Ancestry has transcribed her birthplace as Tannadice, Lancashire when on a closer look it is Tuticorin Southern India (similar?????)

As I have only UK access is it possible for someone to find any details please. She as far as I know was always Bessie and never Elizabeth.
