Can anyone help me find information relating to the parents of Annie Brinn Griffiths. Annie was my Great Grandmother she was born in Narberth Pembrokeshire c 1850 I believe her parents were Thomas & Elizabeth Griffiths both of Pembrokeshire. The unusual second name of Brinn I was told was her mothers maiden name, and was continued to be given to the eldest daughter of the family thereafter with a slight spelling change in more recent years to Bryn. I know this maybe a shot in the dark but any information would be appreciated.
Thanks. Dianna.

Her father - if she knew him - will be named on her marriage cert

There is never any need to speculate when certified info can easily be obtained

Is this the person you are referring to? First Name ANNE Last Name GRIFFITHS Relationship PAUPER Condition - Gender Female Age 0 <<<<<<<<<<<9 months on original Year Of Birth 1851 Occupation PAUPER BARTERER <<< Bastard on original I believe Birth Place - Birth Town NARBERTH Birth County PEMBROKESHIRE House Number - House Name WORK HOUSE Street - Parish NARBERTH SOUTH City - County Pembrokeshire Hamlet - Parliamentary Borough - Municipal Ward - Registration District NARBERTH Archive Reference HO107 Piece Number 2475 Folio 568 Page 48 Record set 1851 England, Wales & Scotland Census Category Census, land & surveys Record collection Census Collections from Great Britain ? brightsolid online publishing ltd
On the original only as the new FMP transcript lists names out of sequence!!!! -
Her name is listed (? coincidentally) under the name Mary Griffiths aged 23 formerly Farm Servant b Newton, Pembrokeshire. the next 2 listed are both down as Orphans and then comes a Mary Phillips age 25 Pauper and then John Phillips aged 2 months Bastard. So perhaps not a coincidence, perhaps Mary Griffiths was the mother.

Rosamond Williams 30 - Unmarried Caroline Williams 9 - Bastard William Williams 7 - " John Williams 3 - " Richard Davies 14 - Pauper Mary John 8 - Bastard
Mary Davies 31 - unmarried James Davies 1 - Bastard Mary Griffiths 23 - Unmarried <<<<< Anne Griffiths 9 months - Bastard <<<<<
IF this is your Annie Perhaps Mary included the name Brinn to cite the father
But I wouldn't speculate any further until you buy the birth certificate

Good Morning. Thank you for your time and effort in assisting me with my query re. the above. However, on further investigation I seem to have discovered a more logical explanation to my query.
My G.grandmother Ann or Annie Brinn Haines nee Griffiths always said her parents were Elizabeth and Thomas Griffiths. There is an entry on familysearch.org which states a marriage of Thomas Griffiths to Elizabeth Brinn occurred in 1849.
I referred back to the 1881 census which shows that Ann Haines (Griffiths) resided with her husband and family in Pentre, Rhondda. It also shows a John Griffiths aged 23 (relative) born in Glamorgan, living or visiting her at the time of the census.
I then checked the 1871 census and found that Elizabeth Griffiths head of the family which included Anne aged 20. They also resided in Pentre, Rhondda. Also on the same census there is a John Griffiths born in Pembrokeshire in 1829 married to Mary and residing in Glamorgan. There are several children in this marriage one of which is John Griffiths aged 13. This appears to be the relative of Anne.
Finally I checked back to the 1841 census and found there was a Griffiths family living in Narberth, Pems. with two sons Thomas aged 18 born 1823 and John aged 12 born 1829, dates which appear within the time frame.
This may be the answer I was looking for, if you can come up with any information confirming or questioning this I would be very grateful.
Thanks once again. Dianna
