Find Ancestors

Hi, can anyone help? I have tried tracing my grandmother in the 1911 census and her parents but cannot find them anywhere. Her name was Florence Elizabeth Nicholls b1905. Her parents was William James Nicholls b1880 and Gertrude Isabella I Nicholls maiden name Blake b1881. I have a record of her marrying in 1927 in Reigate to Joseph Harold Hawkins. I would be grateful for any help. Thanks in advance

or even this one, if she switched her names around! This would fit with her being called "Bessie" on the 1911

Are you discounting the census found in last year as the wrong family? As posted on this latest thread as well, it's the only one which looks likely.

It has to be the right family, they were living at the same address as on the marriage from 1926-1945 at least. in 1928 Joseph Hawkins appeared with them, I assume florence was not listed as I think only women over 30 were listed until 1928.

Going back to Florence Elizabeth'a birth, I don't think the 1905 Q1 in Islington is it as I feel fairly certain that this is the baptism pertaining to it:

So although born before the marriage her father attended the registration? Would it be possible for them to have registered the birth so late?

Did you ever download William's military record from National Archives to see if it contained any further details which may help pinpoint the correct birth?
