Hi Does anyone have access to the" Genealogist " site.According to their publicity this site has the records for Blockley in Worcestershire/Gloucestershire.I did subscribe until three years ago but all the subscriptions to family history sites became too expensive on a pension. The census entries for my ancestor David Beill says he was born in Blockley c1800.His marriage in Holborn in 1848 gives his father as William, occupation butler. Please can anyone help. Regards Wendy

Bale David son of William Bale and Hannah 1799 April 7th (Blockley Baptisms 1771-1812)

BLOCKLEY BAPTISMS 1771-1812
RESEARCHED BY SIR EDWARD WARNER AND TYPED BY JOHN MALIN OF BLOCKLEY.

There are other children of a William Bale baptised in Blockley according to these transcripts, but with a wife named Judith, not Hannah.
Edit: I realise the spelling is vastly different, but wasn't sure if the same was true of the pronunciation. I assume the spelling on the church record is down to the incumbent clergyman.

Hello Chris Ho and Kucinta thank you so much.I hadn't realised that I could look at Brockley records on line. David Beill was in London before the 1827 census in Brockley. He married his first wife Anne Smalley in 1823 in Marylebone. Apart from the spelling the David Bale baptised 1799 in Brockley would have been perfect. I suppose the ei in Beill could be pronounced ay as in weigh/eight etc. Regards Wendy
