Her parents were Alexander Thomson, known as Sandy and Ethel, i would say sometime about 1950 onwards she was born, her parents were born in 1922 and 1921 respectivly

Hello John, Canadian privacy rules are much stricter than ours and there is usually on embargo on the publication of records which is roughly 100 years for births, 80 years for marriages and 60 years for deaths - although it can vary a bit depending on the province.

There are some records that can be quite useful, such as voters lists and obituaries (if the latter on-line)
