Thanks Margee but that does not look like the one I found. John was living in Yardley Worcestershire.

Judging by the 1851 he was married to Margaret in 1841 with three children William 14 , Margaret 12, and John 10

My 1841 fits with your 1851 Jane, but not I think with the 1841 census you initially asked about. Margee's 1841 would be a better match for that.

I still feel sure that Stuart's 1841 is the correct one - even the occupation fits. (Machine Maker // Engineer )
