There are 7 Egan/Rudge birth showing on Freebmd either in Aston or Birmingham between 1915 & 1930 - there might be more who would be siblings of Bernard Egan 1916.
Looking for Egan/Holmes births after 1941 when he married, on freebmd there are 1946, 1947 & 1949 in Birmingham 1951, 1953, 1954 in Liverpool North 1954, 1956, 1958 in Prescott.
The 3 in Birmingham are probably Bernard and Irene’s children – not so sure about the others. There is an Egan/Holmes marriage in Liverpool North in 1951 which would account for those. One in Sheffield in 1944 and Bradford 1952. Names not given as they may be living.
You can search for free here http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

That sounds about right, MC
As a birth for Bernard Patrick Egan has been found in Dublin, are the Court records correct?

Not sure if this casts any light on it:
Midlands, England, Electoral Registers, 1832-1955 Name: Bernard Patrick Egan Year: 1939 Street address: 76 DOVEDALE ROAD Residence Place: Birmingham
He had a code R and a "-" next to his name. R means he was recorded as resident but the "-" means he wasn't eligible to vote at that time.
At the same address was Bernard Egan who was eligible to vote by way of residency and occupation (codes R & O) and Kate Egan who was able to vote because of her husband's eligibility (her codes Rw and Dw). http://www.electoralregisters.org.uk/codes.htm
Reading it that way it would seem that Bernard Patrick was the son and Bernard the father?
