i have elizabeth dooling,on my tree,on her death cert1928, it states birth abt 1875.
cannot find it on ancestry.
parents-daniel dooling 1846-1887.& annie cahill 1849-1901
living manningham bradford yorkshire

Are you sure that the death certificate actualy states "Birth abt 1875"

Age was given on a death certificate at that time, not the birth year

Also i'm not seeing a death for her in 1928, Where was the death registered and who was the informant

thank you for all your replys,
it seems there is a difference in the spelling of dooling.
on her marrage it is spelt as doolan.
the date of birth is given on england & wales 1916-2007as abt 1875-9b 141
it is the same family.& yes there is a photo of elizabeth on my tree on ancestry

Date of birth was not given on the deaths index before Jun quarter 1969

The england & wales 1916-2007 you qoute is an "index" and NOT a BMD certificate

And the ABT "about" is an estimate "abt 1875" and is also NOT listed on the BMD index

The "abt 1875" is simply added by verious web sites when "they" have transcribed the BMD index as a tool to help would be researchers

Ages were not listed on the death index at all until 1866
