Hey everyone,
I've looked for this chap in the 1861/1851 census but nothing is showing up for me ... can someone had a second look?
I SUSPECT he was born in Ireland. Bascially, my ancestor's maiden name was Little, and she died in Stockton in 1866 aged 33, so I suspect this is a brother.
England & Wales, FreeBMD Death Index, 1837-1915 about Patrick Little Name: Patrick Little Estimated birth year: abt 1828 Date of Registration: Apr-May-Jun 1867 Age at Death: 39 Registration district: Stockton Inferred County: Durham Volume: 10a Page: 35
Best wishes,
Peter

Oh wow - thts in interesting.
Do the Liverpool family appear in 1841? I would be looking for a sister Rebecca born c. 1830-33 in Ireland.
Also, just throwing this out there from location and date ... a possible sister-in-law of Rebecca?

Given that both Robert and wife Rebecca/Roberta Wood and eldest son John in the 1861 census posted by Peter as being his relatives, were all born in Ireland, maybe any such marriage took place there?
Not that I can find one there either :-S

Thank you everyone - and yeah, I can find a marriage either for Robert Woods and Rebecca Little. I too suspect Ireland but as there children in the UK were baptised RC perhaps these records have not been deposited/digitised by ancestry?
Since looking over these notes, I rediscovered that Rebecca's maiden name was recorded as Liddell not Little on her daughter Mary Ann's baptism in the R.C. Chapel at Stockton-on-Tees. On the occasion of her son Thomas' baptism at the same Chapel in August 1856, it seems that Rebecca also acted as Godmother to Isabella McGloan. Bernard Dogherty was recorded as Godfather to both Isabella McGloan and Thomas Woods. Although Rebecca's death is recorded in the R.C. Chapel's death register she is actually buried in the grounds of Holy Trinity C of E Church. It would seem there were no provisions for Roman Catholic burials in Stockton at this time.
The 'LITTLE' comes from James' birth certificate.
