Absolutely no idea, I'm afraid! But no harm in asking.

There's an online enquiry form, which would be cheaper:

I no longer live in the UK so do you think if I rang Notts County Council that they would be able to help me re records?

Thank you for your response

Yes, my information came from other Ancestry trees! Perhaps the son of Robert might be mentionned in Misterton records. This was a Richard Shacklock born 1550 Misterton who married a Margaret Cowper b 1558. Their son born Misterton was Edward Shacklock 1580 - 1651. I really hope these facts do have truth in them!

There are public member trees on Ancestry for this family, but without proof, as Elizabeth says.

Neither Misterton nor Sturton le Steeple records go back far enough for you.

Where did you find the 'info'?

Elizabeth

Elizabeth Report 4 Mar 2014 12:04

I am hoping someone may be able to help me. I have recently come across information re my Shacklock tree that would take it back to a Rychard Shacklock 1490 - 1556 whose son was Robert Shacklock born Sturton le Steeple, Nottinghamshire 1518 - 1608 died in Misterton, Nottinghamshire.
However this information does not seem to have a verified source.
Please can anyone verify this for me - Rychard would be my 12th great grandfather if this is verified, which is very exciting for me and my sister.
kind regards
Elizabeth Julia Herrod (nee Shacklock) :-)
