Find Ancestors

I'm trying to find the place of Birth and more information on my great,great Grandad William Smith Born around 1796 He lived in Rettendon, Essex he married Elizabeth Kendal. I know they are on the 1941 census living at Wick house,Rettendon,Essex and can trace them untill 1871 on census not sure about his death Or Place of Birth. Can anyone help me? How could I find where he was born if out of the area from where he lived?

Daniel, I just happened to be using SEAX (Essex archives) this morning, on credits for 24 hours.

I found the following, but nothing more than you can already see from the 1841 census that has already been posted.

Baptised Rettendon -
Daniel 25/6//1815 and James 17/3/1820
Parents William and Elizabeth Smith - a butcher

Marriage 19/11/1811 - All Saints, Rettendon
William Smith (bachelor) (a cross for signature) and Elizabeth Kendal (spinster)(signed)

Witnesses: William Green, Elizabeth Smith and Henrater Rolph (well that's what it looks like).

This looks like the 1841 but not all the dates or all the children seem to tie up ??

To find it Daniel, just look to the left of the screen and under the title 'Tools' you will see 'my threads' - click on that and it will show you all the threads you have previously started or posted on.

If you open up the old thread and post a message on it then it will come back up to the top of the board for us to see.
