I see from your Ancestry tree you have the above for Arthur "Buddie" Arnold. You need the birth cert. His marriage certificate would give father's name. You could try local papers for birth or marriage announcements which might give you the relevant information.

Look for his birth on freebmd.

Look for a marriage for the surnames recorded on the GRO index of the birth

Failing that, purchase a copy of his birth cert - £9.25 when ordered on line from the GRO

His birth registration - a copy of the birth certificate would give parents names. There is more than 1 Arnold/Davies marriage in the Lancs area in preceeding years. MMN shown as Davies but if it were a second marriage then that won't help find the marriage. Birth cert. should show mmn Davies formerly.........
