Those records would be on Scotlands People which is Pay to View .
Think for a 1916 marriage you have to purchase the cert for the info .cost £10 through the site

Thanks Shirley I 'll tell my friend.
Was'nt sure if soemone may look it up or not as I know it's pay to view.

Hello,
Just stumbled across this thread by accident. Thomas Cambpell Porter is one of my relatives. He was my Great-Grandfather's Brother. I only found out his descendants last September when doing research into another of the brothers (John, who was Provost of Greenock) lead to me tracing another branch of the family.
Thomas's Parents were indeed John Porter, from the Strabane area in Ireland, and Elizabeth McDermott, from Greenock.
They married on 06/12/1884 in Rothesay on Bute, presumably because Elizabeth was 8 months pregnant at the time, having their first son John in Rothesay on 08/01/1885.
They later moved about across central Scotland, having further children in Bowling, Polmont, and Grangemouth, before settling back in Greenock. John was an Engine Fitter, and there were shipyards in Grangemouth and Greenock. I tracked their movements via the census records betwen 1881 and 1911. They could have also been elsewhere in the years in-between...
In full, their children were;
John McDermott Porter 08/01/1885 - 1956 James Campbell Porter 09/09/1886 - 19/02/1956 (My Great-Grandfather) Elizabeth Campbell Porter 17/02/1888 - 1960 Martha Galbraith Porter 22/02/1890 William Porter 03/03/1892 - 1965 Thomas Porter 24/01/1894 - 1958 (I believe he lived in Luton) Richard McDermott Porter 02/03/1896 - 1916 (Died at the Somme) Margaret Ford Porter 22/01/1898 George Smith Porter 17/06/1900 - 27/02/1970 Charles Brown Porter 09/08/1902 - 1934
My info had Thomas marrying a Jean Jeffers (presumably the Ann Jane listed above), and having 3 children; Richard Porter (has a daughter Ann) David Porter (has Richard, David, Theresa, and Jessie) Elizabeth Porter (known as Bessie)
