Hi

According to a tree at Ancestry, this is the marriage date

Marriage to Catherine Tooth
1775

25 Dec

Age: 28
St Nicholas, Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire

I cant find anything to verify this though

Thanks Ann.
I have the christening date for Catherine & the burial date for John, & the baptisms of their children.
It´s just the marriage I can´t find.
Have got Catherines family back into the 1500s, But John is proving very elusive. His year of birth was given on the burial record, but he may well not have been born in Abbots Bromley, although the family always lived there.
Dilkes is not a particularly common name & seems to be found mainlt in Staffordshire/Derbyshire.

Looking for a marriage between John Dilkes b 1748 & Catherine Tooth b 1752.
They were both b Abbots Bromley, so the marriage would probably have taken place there.
Their 1st child was born 1777 in Abbots Bromley & have John´s death there in 1820,plus baptisms of all the children
