Am trying to find out what happened to David Ewart. I have him on census 1881 & 91 at Eddleston and Temple,Midlothian respectively and as a witness at his brother Andrew's wedding in June 1894. Can find no UK records for him in census, marriages or deaths.
However I found travel entries for him as follows
Appears to have emmigrated ,leaving Glasgow on 2/6/1900 aboard the Sarmtian of the Alan Line and The State Line for Montreal. On the 14th of June 1900 he crossed the border from Canada to the USA. (NARA Publication M1464 Roll 6. FHL 1570714 - Historical records Border Crossings from Canada To USA 1895-1956). The passenger lists indicate that his destination was Battle Creek,Michigan, via Canada.
I have no idea how to progress the search for him after his arrival in the USA.
