Don't think the death will be correct one, as John E. Stubbs birth was registered in Jul-Aug-Sep quarter 1928 and the one who died in 2000 was born in Dec. so probably wouldn't have had his birth registered untill 1929.

thankyou to everyone for their replies catherine i agree with you that i do not think it is the same death but i need to find out if john edward stubbs ia still alive but all the information you have given me is very helpful he was married to an edna gordon but they divorced many years ago and she has now passed away

You could try buying a copy of the marriage certificates of their children to see if father is noted as deceased, or not.
This will allow you to narrow down a date of death.

think his birthdate is 1928 the problem being the family split and they have no contact with him so doubt they would even know if he is alive
