Looking for the marriage of Mary DREW from Somerton Somerset and Thomas OTTAWAY from Dorking. Have exhausted all searches and combinations of names and come up with nothing, even with variations of spelling there is no luck. As early children were born in Somerset i am guessing that would be the place of marriage, from the date of 1835. They moved around a lot and makes it difficult! Thank you for any suggestions. |

ThAnk you Chris for your diligent work in finding these people for me. One wonders if there was a child born to Alice being a year after her marriage. You have also uncovered some new sites to look on. Living in rural outback australia you forget there is a world full of information and finding where it is kept can be a problem. |

Thank you all very much for the census records of what appear to be the family for Thomas and Mary Ann. The best option seems to get a birth certificate for the youngest daughter Alice who was born 1859 when registration was happening. The witness John PoolOttaway for the 1879 wedding adds another dimension to the puzzle. The daughter Alice appears to have died within a tear oro of marriage toCharles Foulger, possible child birth, and the parents may be bringing up the baby as they are living at the same house. Not sure why HARVEY is there instead of Ottaway on the 1871 census where the following one same address but different name(clerical error) Heaps of leads towork on. Thank you all for your help. |

Hi i am looking for info on Thomas Ottaway who was married Mary Ann, unable to find any marriage that fits in. They had a son Alfred Sydney Ottaway born 1851 in Canningtown. Essex. He married in 1879 Emily Alice Dixon. A wedding notice in the paper said the parents of Alfred had been living in Kent in their last years. Have found deaths for a Thomas and Mary A Ottaway buried in Chobham in Surrey, he was 85 and she was 43. No hard leads on them. Hoping a marriage close to 1851 in the Essex area might come up or births of siblings, but nothing concrete. Any help kindly accepted. Thank you Heather |
