I am trying to locate, where my grandfather is buried, I know that he died in Lewisham in 1974 however do not know the date or place of burial.

I am also interested to see if he had any further children other than Walter Thomas George 1916-1982 as he was my father but never talked about his family so, i know very little about any half brothers or sisters i may have.

Welcome again to the boards Allan.

And thank you for taking my advice to post this thread on this board, rather than the "Chat" board.

Hopefully the information you received on the Chat board will now be posted on here.

Prickles.

If your Father didn't talk about his family..........do you need further information as to who Alexander Walter Skeggs parents were?

Or do you have that information already?

Looks like there may also be a daughter, she appeared with them on the ERs from 1946 at 91 Oldstead Road, Bromley and later at 156 Courthill Road, but I can't see her birth (unless she was married to James or Walter):

Ruby Lavinia Skiggs
Birth Date:21 Jun 1918
Date of Registration:Jun 1990
Age at Death:72
Registration district:Lewisham
Inferred County:London
Volume:14

Your father was also recorded with them in 1939, as was James. There was also a Catherine Tuningley with them.

ADDED - not a daughter, she married Alfred James, so their daughter-in-law.

Allan, you've marked this thread as answered - does that mean you don't need any further information?

It looks like Alfred James/Lavinia had 3 children between 1945 and 1951 - you should be able to find these cousins easily on freebmd.org

Was your father in the military - forgot to mention in1939 he is on the ER, but has an "a" next to his name, which I think indicate he is on the absent voters lists.
