There is only one Mary Gibbons born Burnley around that time but a few years out and no middle name.

More info/confirmation is needed from your lady

If this lady is on genes, has she put her Mary Gibbons, 1920, Burnley in her tree, and then looked for others - except that there are none?

I think this is hard to find I believe they ended up in a convent her sister was adopted but doesnt mention what happened to Mary Agnes not sure they would divulge where she ended up.

If you think that the registration posted by Thelma is likely to be correct, it might be worth getting a copy of the certificate.
You then will have a date of birth, which might help with finding a death registration after 1969.

Mary Agnes could still be alive though.

What was the birth name of the sister that was adopted, and when and where was she born?

Thanks
