Could some on possibly look at the birth register for me please.

Damien P J Benson july/Aug/sept 1962 Lancaster V10c Page 724 A

The birth appears at the bottom of the page.

There is also a Patrick J Benson same mothers surname.

Could these be twins?

I do know these people may be still living and my post may not be appropriate, if this is so please let me know and i will delete it.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thank you
Maurice.

the page no for Patrick is 724. I don't know what the "A" stands for against Damien's page no, .I wonder if they wanted to have Damien as the first name and P J is Patrick J

Strange that there is no entry on the Lancashirebmd for Damien P J.

Could he be Damien Patrick Joseph and the birth re-registered hence the addition of A after the number ?

There is an entry for another brother in 1960

Not finding Damien on Lancs bmd page so wonder if it was a name change added later than birth year

Hello , I also am wondering if it was a name change.

I know ther where 5 children to the Benson Freel marriage, it is just seeing the birth register which has confused me.

Regards
Maurice.

If you know for sure that there were only 5 children to that marriage, it would appear that Damien and Patrick are one and the same

Benson Michele M Freel

BENSON Ryan A FREEL

BENSON Karen W FREEL

BENSON Francis D FREEL

BENSON Damien P J FREEL
BENSON Patrick J FREEL

Cheers Mike,

I do know for definite ther are 5 children, but have not heard of Damien untill now.

I searched for a death in case he had died shortly after birth but could not find one.

Best wishes
Maurice.

The "A" is simply a way of extending the page number range, normaly used for late registrations

I also found this

The two entries are for the same person - whilst a child must be registered within 6 weeks, it remains possible up to the child's first birthday, to change the names in baptism and have the record amended resulting in a second entry for the same person. In this case, because one of the entries is a late registration it is likely that it will have a suffix page number.
