Hi, can someone help me to trace William Baker please. I have very little information. From various newspapers reports 1858 - 1862 he was a gentleman farmer, winning prizes for his livestock. The address given is Purewell House, Christchurch. He was uncle to Martha Bates (nee Baker). |

Is this Christchurch, Lancs or NZ? Or other counties in England and Wales? |

Hi, I am researching Felix Bates. Felix married Martha Baker (youngest daughter of Thomas Baker of Calcutta). Q4 1858 in Eton, Buckinghamshire.. Martha died in 1959, following the birth of twins at her Home, Claratta Lodge, near Southampton..Martha's death was reported in the Salisbury & Winchester Journal 7 May 1859 and reads she was the loved niece of Mr William Baker of Purwell House. |

Looks like that William Baker had a brother Thomas, any chance he was the one 'of Calcutta'? |
