William Wilson & Minnie Davis married in 1901, both aged 19. Daughter Annie born the same year. The family emigrated to Canada sometime after the 1911 census, but can´t track them on either FMP or Familysearch. Can anyone help please?.

Yes. Got quite a shock when I saw how many children they had lost. No wonder they wanted to start a new life. They were very young when they married too.

What info did you enter when you searched for them, wisechild? I'm not seeing them, though there are lots of William Wilsons, Annie Wilsons, and Minnie Wilsons.

Not that it helps answer wisechild's query, but here are William and Minnie, newly married in 1901. Minnie was pregnant when they married. Just kids - if only they'd known all the heartache to come:

Think it was an Ancestry"hint" which I know are often unreliable, if not complete nonsense. Minnie´s older brother emigrated to Canada with his wife & daughter in 1912. He joined the expeditionary force in 1917 & was killed in France in 1918. His widow & daughter came back to England briefly in 1920 & when she returned to Canada to re marry, a number of family members went too. Some returned to England & some stayed in Canada. As Minnie was very close to them all, it seemed reasonable to suppose they had gone as well. Unfortunately, Minnie had a cousin, also called Minnie Davis who was within a couple of years of the same age as "my" Minnie, although I know I´m following the right one because she & William are living with her sister Louisa Crutchley on the 1901 census, as newly weds, Also, her marriage cert gives her father as Frederick Davis, which is correct.

Wonder if William re-married a relative of Minnie'
Marriages Dec 1930
Davis Lily Wilson Birmingham S. 6d 38 Wilson William Davis Birmingham S. 6d 38
Edit: Just found the above marriage on the parish records. It has the father down as Ernest and William' father was John, so not the same person
I cant see him on the ER after 1927 so was wondering about this death

Thanks for all your hard work Gins & everyone else . Got quite excited when I saw the marriage of Lily because Minnie had a niece called Lily. Unfortunately her father was William. Certainly appears that they didn´t go to Canada as I had thought. Just goes to show you should never second guess, or take someone else´s word as evidence.
