Dear All

Hello

I would be very grateful if some kind person could check this person on
World Wide Ancestry:

Edith May Agnes STARLING is on the 1911 census.

Age in 1911: 15

Estimated Birth Year: abt 1896

Relation to Head: Daughter

Birth Place: Putney
Civil Parish: Barnes

County/Island: Surrey
Country: England

Street Address: 91 Railway Street, Barnes

Registration District: Richmond
Registration District Number: 41

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edith is living with her parents Joseph and Sarah Starlng.

Source Citation: Class: RG14; Piece: 3617; Schedule Number: 8.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

However, I believe that Edith married and became Mrs ADCOCK and emigrated to Canada.

There are a couple of records relating to her but I cannot view them.

Could you please look and advise what the records say?

I would be very grateful for some help.

Thank you.

Take gentle care
Elizabeth, EOS
xx

Dear Mike

Hello

That is definitely my Edith, married to Arthur.

Some other family members had gone to America and Canada.
But this is a new branch of the family tree I am now researching.

I will print the information off.

Thank you very much, Mike for all you help.

With very best wishes
Elizabeth,
xx

The Edith married to Adcock does not appear to have the middle name of Agnes.

You really need the marriage cert to see who her father was to be sure you have the right lady

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 24 Jan 2014 21:37

On the 1953 outward voyage the Adcock's last address had been The Lodge, Wyggeston Hospital, Leicester. Arthur was a porter.

On the 1955 return trip their address was to be Carnich Road, Crossing, Wymondham, Norfolk.

The East Midlands locations suggest the Norfolk records and not those that Elizabeth is pursuing .....

I agree, but Elizabeth states

"That is definitely my Edith, married to Arthur "

in which case I don't think she was the E.. M. A. Stringer she cited in the 1911 census.

Exactly Mike!

Elizabeth, you've marked this as answered but I think there are still loose ends to be tied up - if you can tell us the connection to Edith May then perhaps we can sort it out.
