JOAN MEARD married JAMES HOCKEY at Kilmington Devon 9-3-1784, she was not born there, and I cannot find where she came from, I believe she was born about 1740-1760, I have searched Devon, Somerset & Dorset for any MEARD,S without luck, there were MEARDS in the Buckinghamshire area about that time and if there is anyone with baptism records for this area would you kindly keep a look out for JOAN. Thank you for any help or pointers.

Yes that is the correct marriage, It is JOAN,S birthplace that I am trying to find.
I suppose if JOAN had been married before her marriage to JAMES, the name MEARD could have been a previous husband.
