Hi All,

Trying to find my G.G.G.Grandfather's wife??.

William was born in 1778 New Radnor, Wales, he had 4 children, John b 1802,
Joseph b 1805, Nathaniel b 1808 & Henry b 1809.

I cannot find a wife for William, all i get on a census is 'Househusband'
He was a Farmer.

No help from Ancestry, Find My Past, and Family Search. Ancestry cannot even find him :-P.

Can anybody point me in right the direction, any help would be appreciated. ;-)

Many thanks

Kathy.

You will probably have to access PR's at the County Records Office

I'm assuming you've looked for baptisms of the sons to try to find out the mother's first name?

How did you find out that he fathered these four?

And please tell us where they born..................

On which census(es) have you found these men recorded?

Hi,

Yes I have John 1802 as baptized 16th July and residing at Llanfair, Kilgedin, Monmouthshire.

All the info I have has come from. Family Search.

Thank you your answer.

So which census is William on?

And how did you determine that the man named as the father on the baptism record in Mon was the one born in Radnor?

Just trying to get a firm 'line'................

I can't see the baptism on familysearch - I can, however, see it on FMP

Any chance of a response about the censuses?

And why you think the Monmouthshire baptisms are for the sons of a man born in Radnor?

Not saying they aren't, but some idea of how your research led you to the conclusion would be useful

So why is there a baptism for Nathaniel in 1811?

I posted ALL the baptisms from FMP (read my post).........................I wasn't imagining the second one...........and as you have access to FMP, I'm not sure how you could have failed to see it

Kathryn from your OP ref 'Househusband' was that a transcription of his occupation? Chris Ho post above has William's occupation as "husbandman"

A husbandman was a tenant farmer or a farmer dealing with animals
