I am searching for a John Joseph Curren who married Margaret McKenna. On their wedding cert - July 22nd 1918 - he is living at 6 Lavender St, Miles Platting Manchester and was aged 22 years; occupation - Private R.W.F. (Which I am presuming is Royal Welsh Fusileers?). His father is named as John Curren, Chemical worker. But I cannot match him on any censuses that I have looked at, nor father and father's occupation. Is anyone else looking for this couple?? :-0

Have you found a possible death to confirm birth year, and how did you get back to him?

Thanks

mmmmm might be worth looking at though, thank you. Wedding cert is hand written so spelling might be either way :-)

whoops! I DID do another post …… where did it go?? LOL! Well, here goes again! I have the wedding cert and agree about the spelling. I also have to 1911 census and for a moment I thought that the Kate Cullen at the end might be a relative or mother?? But then have looked again and it says she had no children, but interestingly she was Irish. Ed McKenna was Irish, from Dundalk in Co Louth. Maybe John Joseph was a nephew? I will just have to keep looking, but thank you both for your comments and help. Oh, and Margaret McKenna was my Great Aunt! I never knew anything about this family when I was young, only recently have I discovered some members but no-one can tell me anything about them :-(

ps - when I mentioned Kate CULLEN it was just in case the enumerator had made an error with the Irish accent - sorry, I should have made that clear. On one of the census - I think it is the 1901 - the McKenna' are recorded as McKINNA ……. if you say the name quickly and with an Irish accent you can see why it happened!!! ;-)
