John,
Did you obtain the 1911 census for the Chalmers family in Calderhead, Shotts?

I wonder if there was another child born 20 Dec 1909 named Thomas Forrest Chalmers?

I have found 1955 travel for above who lived in India.
This one gave an address in Wishaw ( 19 Ladysmith St)

EDIT:
By playing with the 1911 census search on SP, it looks like above Thomas is a child in the Chalmers family.
Put with other names :Alexander, Christina, and Lawrence. all provide one match

Thomas does seem to be entered as age1 and I can confirm that a child named Thomas Chalmers was registered in Calderhead 1909

John,
Although it doesn't help with your search, have you found the info on his younger brother, Lawrence Forrest Chalmers bc 1900?

He travelled to Canada in 1923, but his death is recorded in Corby, Northamptonshire in 1982

EDIT:
I can see Lawrence in Illinois at 1930 and the family returning to Scotland in 1932.
On all travel docs that I found, Lawrence provides contact details only for his father, Alexander in Shotts ( same address as 1901 census)

Mary's death cert would say if Alexander was still alive then or not, which would help to narrow it down.

Death cert for Mary would be handy to see who was the informant on it

Can anyone find some more information in relation to this person

So far I have Alexander Chalmers was born 27/10/1897 in Calderhead, Lanarkshire to Alexander Chalmers and Christina Forrest.

He married Mary McNeil Thomson on 28/12/1922 in Calderhead.

I found her death on the BMD index and she died September 1971 in Ormskirk, Lancashire, but haven't found anything for him yet.

Any help appreciated
