Hi All,
I am looking for the lost males in this Niinnis Family. Edwin is the 9th and Egerton the 6th child of 17 children of Captain [Cornish mining Engineer] James Ninnis and Priscilla Stephens. Egerton was the last child born [Mar 1845 ]in St Columb, Cornwall, England the family emigrated to New Zealand in Jul 1845 and first settled at Kawau Island. Edwin was born in 1849 NZ. Egerton helped in Flax business in South Isalnd NZ and married a Susannah Greenfield in Christchurch, NZ 1878 she died in 1881 and that's where I lost Egerton. Edwin did not appear to have married, he was a miner like his father and I last have him in a NZ electorate roll 1900 in Thames area as resident miner. These two boys plus the eldest child John who also never married were the only Ninnis left of that line. all the sisters but the youngest married and had children. Wondered if they went mining in Australia or America?
Thanks Jo
