hiya ive just started my family tree and want to no if anyone has any information on the surnames Wivell and Thompson from Grimsby thanks

In 1911, 21 people named Wivell were resident in Grimsby......13 of whom had been born there

you have Arthur Wivell, 1925, in your tree on here, but there is no birth showing for him on free bmd from 1920 to 1930.
Do you know where he was born, or did he use a different spelling?

Any chance spelling also Wyvell/Wyvill?

Numerous GR trees have Wivells born Grimsby....none of them yours...........

I suspect that the Arthur Wivell who married in 1940 is the man.

Jade may be guessing by her parent's age.

That would probably make him Arthur Wivell born 1918 in Grimsby.

Do you know Raven, did he die in Yorkshire about 25 years ago?

If that is him you can find his birth here

and that shows you his mother's surname, and then you can look for their marriage.

you can also search for other births with the same surname combination to find any siblings he had

Since you are doing your tree and are just starting out I do not want to deprive you of the excitement of finding things for yourself!

if that is the wrong person, just give some more information here, the pixels are free and you can give as much as you like, just be sure to say how much help you want if you would rather do the searching yourself once you know how :-)
